Internet Marketers Unite!

I suppose I’ve become almost fully integrated into this world-o-blogs now, as I’ve been tagged for my first meme by Dana Wallert, blogger extraordinaire. I must say that I can’t think of a better reason to make this kind of post, either.

The Internet Marketers of New York, sponsored by Best of the Web, are hosting a charity party to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on October 15. There will be food, drink, prizes, and more – all that’s asked is a $40 donation. Full details can be found at the bottom of this post.

I lost a friend to leukemia some years ago…she was only 16. She never got to go to prom, have a real job, or experience any of those “adult things” we gripe about often without realizing how lucky we are. But while this isn’t the only story of its kind – there are triumphs as well. Marty at aimClear is a brave living testament to that – frankly, his story is nothing short of inspirational. We need more triumphs in this world.

While I unfortunately won’t be able to attend the party due to a prior commitment, I’ll be sending a donation. If you cannot make the event or live too far away, it’s easy for you to donate, too.

Now this is the part where I tag other people to spread the word, so here goes nothing: Do it up Sean at Warrior Blog, Tal at Walyou, and Steven from Vandelay Website Design! I know y’all aren’t strictly Internet Marketing bloggers per se, but we’re all connected, after all.

Thank you for the support. I never thought I’d write about cancer in our search marketing blog :) but there is too much serendipity here for me not to get involved.
